The problem is that he originally bought it for $4.75 million, but he put it on the market for $1.99 million, which is quite odd. We don't know if a financial advisor is behind all this, but we only hope that the price has been lowered for a good reason. His lavish home in Michigan is actually huge, measuring at 17,000 square feet, and it was built in 1986.

 

It comes with many sports facilities, like a tennis court, and on the outside, there's a huge pool as well as a guest room with its own entertainment areas. The most fabulous feature of all is that every bedroom is actually a suite, able to accommodate any guest's extravagant needs.

Matt Lauer was so enchanted by the sheer beauty of the 12-bed, 12-bath sprawling mansion of Richard Gere in Hamptons that he even jettisoned two other Hampton properties to snatch this one. Matt eventually paid almost half the actual price and rumor has it that Richard Gere had to cut the asking price at least thrice as Matt was quite unwilling to take out a home loan. We also heard that Gere was struggling to sell the mansion and even hired four real estate agents to get a good price.
